SKYJO (FR)
Skyjo, a colorful card game
Skyjo is a card game played over several rounds. The game ends when a player reaches or surpasses 100 points. At the end of the game, the player with the fewest points is declared the winner. The objective of Skyjo is to collect the fewest points possible throughout the game.
How to play?
Setting up the game:
1. Each player receives 12 cards.
2. A card is placed face up in the middle of the table, which forms the discard pile. The other cards form the draw pile.
3. Each player places their 12 cards in 4 vertical rows of 3 cards face down.
4. Each player reveals 2 cards of their choice.
5. The player with the highest sum (of the two cards) starts the game.
Gameplay:
1. The player draws a card. They can choose between the first card (face up) from the discard pile (they must then exchange this card with one of their 12 cards) or the first card (face down) from the draw pile (they are allowed to look at the card and choose whether to exchange it with one of their 12 cards).
2. The round ends when a player has revealed all their cards. The other players still have the opportunity to play one more time to finish the round.
3. Players proceed to count the points.
4. The player who has revealed all their cards must have the lowest number of points. Otherwise, their points are doubled.
And the winner is...
At the end of each round, the players' points are tallied and added to the total score. If at the end of a round, a player reaches or surpasses 100 points, the game ends. The player with the lowest number of points wins the game.
Skyjo is a fast-paced and engaging game with simple rules that will lead players to play many rematches!
